Even with a few breeders taking a break this year, Bathurst Royal still turned out a great display of quality Belties! The future of this show as a major focal point for Belted Galloways remains secure.

We had two new breeders join us for this year’s Royal – Carenne School, and Peter Munday, both local to NSW’s Central West. Both did a great job with preparing and parading excellent animals. Particular congratulations to Peter for winning both Grand Champion Ribbons, and subsequently Supreme Exhibit with the bull. Just shows what can be achieved with a good attitude and simply having a go – Peter had never shown cattle before, this was his first time! The bull was a large, framey bull with good bone, the heifer long with lovely ribeye and muscle-load. The heifer definitely did give the bull a run for its money.

Thanks again to all exhibitors, particularly regular ones who can be counted on. Also thanks to the Galloway and Miniature Galloway crowd for their contribution to the show, it’s nice to see growth happening there as well. And to Minto Galloways for donating beef to the show barbeque. There is no doubt that Belties and Galloways have a healthy presence at Bathurst Royal!
